The Standard American Diet (SAD) and processed foods are not your friends

Conventional processed foods are formulated to have drug-like qualities with various concoctions of fat, sugar, oil, and/or salt designed to physically addict your body and brain. When functional MRI’s are given to processed food consumers, researchers see the same sensation in the brain triggered by processed foods as it does by cocaine. In fact, when people stop consuming a standard American and/or processed food diet, they inevitably experience drug-like withdrawals.

Americans are eating fake foods with no nutritional value so our bodies are starving for nutrition. A large portion of the U.S. has diabetes or pre-diabetes and don’t even realize it. And unbelievably enough, 70 percent of all chronic diseases are preventable with proper nutrition.

Veganism is a compassionate lifestyle, as it abstains from the exploitation of animals in diet, fashion, and other aspects of life.

More than 50 percent of our global green house gases are due to animal agriculture and factory farming. Additionally, agricultural production consumes 92 percent of our water footprint. 

  • A single dairy cow used drinks up to 50 gallons of water per day.
  • More than 1,800 gallons of water is needed to produce 1 pound of beef.

That’s an enormous amount of waste and water used on these inhumane factory farms to keep animals alive in these horrendous living conditions.

In comparison, a vegan diet requires only 300 gallons of water per day versus a meat-eating diet which requires 4,000 gallons of water per day!

By going vegan, one person can save approximately 200,000 gallons of water per year and the priceless lives of many animals!

Go Vegan for Ethical Reasons

Sadly, most harm to animals come from our diet. 8 billion land animals and 100 billion sea creatures are killed in the U.S. every year for food consumption.

Animals are stuffed into overcrowded factory farms and administered antibiotics (whether they need it or not) in order to make the animals grow faster and bigger in their unsanitary living conditions.

Most factory farm animals have been genetically modified to grow larger than they naturally would and baby cows are torn away from their mothers to exploit the dairy cows and steel their milk while they slaughter the babies.

Due to the inhumane treatment of these unfortunate animals, approximately 69 percent of vegans decide to do so on behalf of them.

Where to begin?

Even if you start small, every time you replace an animal product with a plant-based product you’ll be doing amazing things for your body and the planet.

Make a list of all the fruits and veggies you like, buy them, and start experimenting with them while slowly adding in more.

Begin by making wellness the new normal in your lifestyle. Teach your children that phytonutrients come from plants, not pills or gummies. Grow a small herb garden at home.
